Johan H. Andresen is Chair, Council on Ethics, Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG), appointed first in 2015 and reappointed in 2019. GPFG is the largest single mandate fund in the world with assets of more than USD 1 trillion and is invested in more than 9000 companies worldwide. Johan is also Chair of the Board of Ferd which is fully owned by him and his family. Ferd is one of the largest privately held industrial and financial groups in Norway with roots back to 1849 and consist today of five business areas, of which four are fully commercial and one is dedicated to scaling social entrepreneurs. Other directorships include NMI-Nordic Microfinance Initiative, which he launched together with the Government of Norway, and Junior Achievement Europe. He has an MBA from Erasmus, Rotterdam School of Management, and a BA from Dartmouth College.
