
Leonie Schreve holds a senior management position at ING. She is Global Head of Sustainable Finance in which she leads the commercial efforts on the sustainability side. Sustainable Finance drives sustainable transitions of ING’s Wholesale banking clients base through innovative green finance structures like green bonds and lending, sustainable improvement products, equity, innovation finance for scale-ups and sustainable advisory. This supports large corporates, financial institutions, but also smaller innovative companies to transition to tomorrow’s economy and align with the Paris Climate Agreement. Leonie has started a variety of new businesses in ING and steered these from startups to mature business lines.
Leonie has represented ING in the board of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP FI Banking Commission) and has acted as Chair of the Equator Principles Steering Committee till 2013. Leonie has more than 20yrs experience in sustainability through her work as Management Consultant at DHV/Haskoning in which she worked with various multinationals, as independent consultant in Costa Rica, and in her work at ING. Leonie holds a Master in Environmental Science and Business Ethics. As former athlete she has been active in multiple board positions in sports and holds a master in International Sports Management.
